West Australia - Around Perth

Sorrento / Hilarys

West Australia has a breathtaking coastline with a daily magical sunset over the ocean. Turquoise waters, stunning houses (mansions) and glamorous people wherever you look - its clean, its modern and you would struggle to get a 'bad' meal anywhere. Hilarys harbour has some amazing bustling restaurants for tasty breakfasts, simple lunches and fancy evening dinners - there are an array of choices for any occasion. The harbour also has a beautiful 'inlet' of shallow waters perfect for children to play in on a summers day. I've listed below a few of my favourite spots in this specific area...

Near Hillary's Harbour does an awesome breakfast and banging coffee. I ate here for breakfast regularly on both my trips to West Australia, and would grab a coffee from the window if I was in a hurry and passing by. It does get busy pretty much every morning, so the earlier you get there, the better!

On a road near North Beach, this is a really cool place that does amazing acai smoothie bowls! A lot of healthy options and vegan / gluten free dishes, so something to suit everyone.

Odessy’s

This restaurant is down the coast a bit, has beautiful views of the sunset over the sea and is a great place if you are celebrating a special occasion. The cocktails are fantastic, as is the food - bit more up market and pricey - but totally worth it.

Also has a great view of the sunset over the sea, slightly more casual dining - think beers and seafood.

Kings park is massive, is beautiful to walk around/run around and gives an incredible view over the swan river and the city of Perth. Good view point and photo opportunities!

Girls - If you love beautiful clothing and all things pretty - this boutique ladies clothes store has the most stunning summer wear, glamorous dresses for all occasions and super cute shoes - basically you just have to go there ok? Check out their instagram account rnay_clothing and you will see what I mean!

Moonlight Cinema

In the summer you can go to Kings park to Moonlight Cinema which is an outdoor cinema where you can take a picnic and sit on bean bags and enjoy a good movie under the stars. You can book tickets online and would recommend doing it for a night with friends or a date night with your partner.

Rottnest Island

Rottnest Island is cool to visit for the day, small island with stunning little coves and beaches to sunbath on. They also have the native little friendly ‘quokas’ which are pretty cute to see running about.

Fremantle ( ‘Freo’ )

Fremantle is cool to visit for the day to see another city in WA. It has a more chilled relax vibe with quite a creative art / music scene. There are really good markets here to walk around and pick up delicious local food. My all time favourite restaurant was in Freo called ‘The Raw Kitchen’ - it honestly has the most flavoursome amazing food, and has a rustic / artisan feel to the place. Upstairs there is a yoga studio!

Busselton

Busselton is a cute seaside town about 3 hours south of Perth. Its a very quiet and peaceful place with beautiful turquoise waters. There is the iconic Busselton Jetty you can walk down to soak in that fresh sea air, if you struggle with walking there is a little tram out to the end of it you can pay for. In the town there is several decent cafes, charity shops and cool surf shops.

The Goose Cafe near to the jetty does a great breakfast - especially if you are into your eggs brekkies or grains and fruits.

Minilup Beach a short drive from Busso’ is a really pretty clean beach to go hang out on for the day.

The Elephant Cafe is great for breakfast, or a spot of lunch - a real surf vibe to it, and its quite high up over looking the

sea.
